Committee 02 of 06
Committee 2. UNHRC Junior
United Nations Human Rights Council, Junior track
The beginner track. Real human rights debate at a pace built for a first conference.
The Human Rights Council is the UN body that examines how governments treat the people who live under them. It hears reports, investigates abuses and passes resolutions that name what is happening and what should change.
The Junior track keeps the same substance and slows the procedure. The chairs explain each step as it happens, speaking times are generous, and the first session is a walkthrough rather than a test.
If you have never sat in a committee before, this is the room to start in. You will leave knowing how a resolution is built, because you will have built one.
